Wirelessly Stream Your iPad On Your Mac

This is the time of the year when companies do their strategic planning for the coming year and in my case it is no different. One of the highlights of my strategic plan presentation is to show a prototype data mining app which runs on mobile device. I want it to be more interesting by doing the actual demo using my iPad. I did it using Reflector Airplay Receiver. On this post, I will share how easy to setup your Mac and mirror an iPhone or iPad on it.

Step 1. Download Reflector and install it on your Mac by opening the downloaded dmg file.
Step 2. Open Reflector.app file in your Applications folder. It will run from your dock until a device is connected.
Step 3. Enable AirPlay Mirroring in your iOS Device.
iOS 7: Swipe up to access your Control Center. The AirPlay icon will appear beside the AirDrop icon in the second row from the bottom.
iOS 6: Double tap the home button on your device and swipe from left to right until you see the AirPlay icon.
Step 4. Tap the AirPlay icon, select your Mac from list of available receivers and then toggle the "Mirror" switch.

Your iOS Device should now appear on your Mac. Just plugin any projector in your Mac to do a demonstration. Please take note that for AirPlay to work, your Mac and iOS device should be running on the same WiFi network.

Reflector is also compatible with Windows PC.
