Using computer is fun and some people can go for hours staying in front of it. Unless it is part of your job, or event it is, prolong usage and poor egonomics are bad for your health. Here is a video reminder courtesy of Spanish division of Vodafone. It reminds you the common ergonomic problems such as poor spine alignment, poor chair ergonomics design and etc.

Use these tips to improve your posture, change bad computer habits, and prevent future health problems. Remember it may be difficult for you to adapt to these tips but keep in mind that this will help you in the long run.

  1. One of the real strengths of this video is the fact that it doesn't matter what language you speak, you'll still be able to benefit from it. It actually reminds me a little of The Sims, with time being paused whilst the environment is tweaked. And they're not at all patronising, which is always an advantage too. They're not saying you have to do this, you have to do that, you have to use a laptop stand, you have to sit in this way. It just shows you best practice.

Personally, I think just showing someone best practice is more likely to get them to adopt it than being some kind of overbearing ergonomics ogre. (Although I have been accused of being a bit of an ergonomics nag in my time, hopefully I'm not too bad.)
